NEXT Event: Santa’s North Pole Unwrapped

Saturday, December 8th
Visit our Program Calendar for more Event, Volunteer and Sponsor Details

Our mission:

The work of our Organization is passionate and purposed to awaken dreams that have been silenced by circumstance. Our programs and partnerships will empower mindsets and create access to opportunities uncommonly found in under-resourced communities. Our programmatic priorities are:

Community Care Connection

Our Community Care Connection efforts are unapologetic about bringing the community closer.  We sponsor our signature programs, such as The Dandelion Dreams Community Honors and Santa's North Pole Unwrapped and support and partner with other like-minded organizations to host events throughout the year.

Tool K.i.T. (Knowledge In Transformation)

Knowledge in transformation is a journey to wisdom, and Tool K.i.T. facilitates efforts to get there. Simply stated, knowledge is having the facts and information. Understanding is the ability to translate the meaning from the facts.  Wisdom is knowing what to do next, given the understanding of the facts and circumstance.  The Tool K.i.T. program sponsors classes, engages in private consultations and partners with other organizations to teach essential and unique life skills.  Target groups include, but are not limited to The Family Unit, Single Parents, Students, Career Coaching and more!

TwentyTwo:6

Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Our TwentyTwo:6 efforts are two-fold; prioritizing the importance of the parent-child relationship and facilitating the growth of children into leaders. Teaching, engaging and developing will be the approach as we host rotating workshops on topics such as integrity, responsibility, and self-belief to name a few.

Triple-E

We support inspiring entrepreneurs and facilitate the transition from idea to reality through our Enlighten Entrepreneurial Excellence Program (aka Triple E).

Community Care & Connection

It is a known fact that poverty-stricken and low-income communities are too often overlooked, undervalued and under-resourced.  Opportunities are limited or do not exist and Dandelion Dreams is responding to the call.  We are driven by the heartbeat of our compassion and want to take every chance we get to connect and uplift those who have needlessly fallen victim to their circumstances.

Under our Community Care & Connection Priority, we sponsor, support and partner with other organizations to create access to opportunities uncommonly found in these under-served areas.  When asked why, we respond, Just Because!  But truthfully and simply stated, under-resourced and poverty-stricken areas need an advocate, an outlet, and a reason to smile.  Parents are lifted and find another reason to remain hopeful while children are free to laugh and enjoy life when the community comes together just to “be together”.

On Saturday, December 8th, STAY CONNECTED and join Santa and his elves for Santa's North Pole Unwrapped!   This event is being presented by Dandelion Dreams and our sponsors.

Location: Delta Athenaeum and DEED Foundation
900 E. Linwood Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64109

Time: 10am – 2pm

We Need Volunteers AND SPONSORS

We need SEED SUPPORTERS to bless the community with your time, talents, and sponsorships!!

Please review the opportunities below and sign-up!!

Santa, his elves and the people of this community are seeking a commitment from volunteers who can assist with Santa's North Pole Unwrapped.

Volunteer opportunities include:

NOW

  • Social Media Marketing / Connections - assist with developing and maintaining our online presence in order to maximize our impact and promote the event as widely as possible to the local community.
  • Flyer Distribution - electronically and directly to local churches, schools, and neighborhoods
  • Carnival game builders

Friday, December 7th
(all day or shift assignments)

  • North Pole Set-up - Before Santa and his elves can officially get the party started, all carnival games, craft stations, life-sized games, and decor will need to be in place and ready to go!  Dandelion Dreams staff members will be on site all day, but since the venue will be closed to the public, the doors will NOT be unlocked.  Volunteers may come and go as you please, BUT we ask that you complete the form below to ensure we know when and who we are expecting.

Saturday, December 8th
(8am - 3pm or shift assignments)

  • Crowd/Traffic Control - facilitate a smooth transition of pedestrian traffic flow from the parking areas into the venue. This role will require directing and stopping traffic/moving vehicles to ensure attendees can safely cross the street.
  • Registration / Ticket Sales -   Manage activities at the check-in table, which will include selling onsite tickets and collecting money.
  • Greeters - are responsible for welcoming families into the venue and distributing event booklets after the families have registered.  We encourage greeters of all ages but are hoping we can give this opportunity to several Little Leaders (ages 5 - 10).

  • Greeter Captains - are responsible for monitoring the Little Leader Greeters as well as welcoming families and providing assistance, direct, on and information about the venue and activity locations.  Greeter captains will also direct families to the Family Check-in area.
  • Family Check-in Team - is responsible for ensuring every child is checked in with an adult and all members of the same family have the same color wristbands and the same number marked on each wristband.
  • Family Check-out Team - is responsible for ensuring no child leaves without an adult and that each family exiting the building all have the same color wristbands and the same number on each.
  • Carnival Game Operators - multiple games will be on site and will require volunteers to operate, provide guidance and assist each player.
  • Life-size Game Operators - multiple life-size games will be placed around the venue to give families the opportunity to play with other families.  Life-size Game operators will monitor the progress of each game and be attentive to other families who are interested in playing the games.  This may require encouraging those currently engaged in the game to give others the opportunity to partake in fun!
  • Runners / Floaters - will not be assigned to a specific area, but should be flexible and adaptable with the ability to relieve any of the rolls above.  Floaters  / Runners will also ensure the volunteer area is restricted to volunteer only.
  • First Aid - If you are trained in CPR, are an experienced EMT, etc. please register!  In the event of a medical emergency, that parent or child will need you!
